Children are being placed at the center of one of the most serious medical and cultural debates of our time.
U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), Chairman of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee, recently held a hearing examining the dangers of irreversible gender transition procedures performed on minors. Witnesses included detransitioner Chloe Cole and Dr. Kurt Miceli of Do No Harm, who warned about the physical, emotional, and long-term consequences of these interventions.
Cole shared how her family was pressured with the claim that she needed to transition or risk suicide — a message she now calls a harmful lie. Dr. Miceli raised concerns about infertility, sexual dysfunction, bone health, and other lifelong consequences connected to these procedures.
Senator Cassidy emphasized that children deserve protection, parents deserve the truth, and medical decisions should be guided by sound science — not ideology.
