Our Christian Duty
Three (plus) weeks from now, Americans will know which candidates will direct the course of our state and nation for the next two to four years. Unfortunately, too many Christians do not understand exactly what is at stake. It is hard to believe, considering the societal chaos, lawlessness, and confusion we have been subjected to over the past four years. Add to that the brazen advocacy for abortion/infanticide, so-called “gender-affirming care” and child abuse, fiscal recklessness, and general political deception and indifference to tried and true family values.
With each passing election cycle, we ought to be ever more concerned with the vital issues of biblical morality, ethics, and those self-evident, God-given civil rights identified in our Declaration of Independence: Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. Thankfully, many of these rights are enshrined in the Bill of Rights. These first ten amendments to the U.S. Constitution guarantee our individual liberties from totalitarian government policies and actors.
